Cloud Engineering Services

Our cloud engineering services design, migrate and run cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud, AWS and Microsoft Azure, engineered around the software that runs on it and supported long after go-live.

Cloud engineering services we offer

Cloud work goes best when the people setting up the infrastructure understand the software that runs on it. As a software development company, that is where we start: with the application, its users and its data, and then the platform that suits them.

Cloud Architecture Specialists

Cloud Architecture & Migration

Cloud environments designed around your workloads, and a planned move off on-premise servers or ageing hosting.

  • Architecture and cost estimates before you commit
  • Staged migrations with a rollback plan
  • Hybrid set-ups where some systems stay put
DevOps Automation Engineers

DevOps & Automation

Automated, repeatable delivery, so releasing a change is routine rather than an event.

  • Automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Infrastructure as code
  • Containerised applications
Managed Cloud Support Team

Managed Cloud & Support

Ongoing care once the environment is live: kept secure, backed up, monitored and sized to what you actually use.

  • Monitoring and alerting
  • Security updates and tested backups
  • Regular cost reviews and right-sizing
Cloud Back-End API Developers

Cloud Back Ends & APIs

Cloud-native back ends, APIs and data platforms for the web, mobile and IoT applications that depend on them.

  • APIs for web and mobile apps
  • Data platforms for connected devices
  • Integrations with your existing systems

Built to scale from day one

Scaling is the part of a cloud project that is almost always underestimated. Adding servers is easy. Keeping every server, in every cluster, working from the same correct data is not. That has to be planned before the first line of code, not patched in once the traffic arrives, so we design the architecture for growth from the start.

Custom software development
  • Data planned up front

We decide where each piece of data lives, who can write it and how it’s shared between nodes and clusters, before the build starts.

    DatabaseApplication
  • Nodes you can add any time

Application nodes keep no data of their own, so capacity grows by adding nodes, not by rewriting code.

    ApplicationCloud platform
  • Tested for the traffic to come

We load-test against the growth you expect, not just today’s numbers, so the limits show up in testing, not in production.

Each node keeps its own copy of the data, and the copies drift apart as you grow.

Where a cloud project starts

01 · Discovery

It starts with a conversation about what you have

Before we recommend anything, we need to understand your current set-up and what you want from it. From there the process generally runs like this:

  • 1
A discovery meetingWe look at what’s in place today and what you want to optimise or achieve.
  • 2
An honest assessmentWe tell you what’s working, and where another approach or platform would serve you better.
  • 3
A proposalA plan of action with rough cost estimates, written up for you to review.
  • ✓
Agree the way forwardWe talk the proposal through and refine it, then schedule the rollout with a payment plan that suits you.
02 · What to expect

Advice based on what actually works

We work across AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, and we know which platforms and services suit which requirements. So our recommendations follow your goals, not a house preference.

You’ll know the plan, the rough cost and how payments would work before anything moves.

Every project is different

Our projects are bespoke, so this is the general shape rather than a fixed script. The quickest way to see what yours would look like is a short call or an email.

How a cloud engineering project generally runs here at Epicdev

The assessment and the architecture come first, so the cost, risk and timeline are clear before anything is moved.

What working with us looks like

Flexible on technology. We’re not tied to one language, framework or platform. We choose the technology that fits your project, your team and the systems you already run.

  • You get an architecture and a running-cost estimate before anything moves.
  • Your infrastructure is defined in code and documented, not held in one person’s head.
  • We sign your NDA before you share the details of your systems.
  • Payment plans and options structured to suit your project.
  • Ongoing support under a service level agreement.

Epicdev understood our business needs quickly, but more importantly, were able to translate those needs into working solutions accurately and efficiently. We never felt any challenge was too difficult to solve; they reliably presented options and recommendations regardless of the problem.

A SaaS platform for managing IoT devices in the field

The challenge
Devices on IoT projects sat behind firewalls and mobile connections, so every update or fix meant SSH, VPNs or a site visit.
What we built
Our own cloud platform: a one-command device agent, versioned templates, batch deploys, a secure Tunnel and an AI assistant.
The result
Whole fleets updated or rolled back in one action, in production with clients for six months.

Cloud engineering: common questions

Still wondering about something?

Ask us directly
How much do cloud engineering services cost?

There are two parts. The engineering work is quoted against a written scope after the assessment. The monthly running costs are estimated as part of the architecture, so you know them before anything moves. We can also structure payment plans around the project.

It depends on what you already run, the services your applications need, where your users are and any agreements or credits you already have. We work across all three and recommend one against your requirements.

We plan migrations to keep downtime to a minimum: systems move in stages, each step is tested, and the final cutover is scheduled for a quiet period, with a rollback plan in case anything doesn’t behave as expected.

Yes. We start with an audit of the existing set-up, covering security, costs, backups and how it is deployed, and then agree with you what to keep, fix or rebuild.

The environment can move onto a support agreement under a service level agreement, covering monitoring, security updates, backups, cost reviews and changes, with agreed response times.
